Description
The nature of dark matter (DM) and the origin of the baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU) are two of the deepest mysteries of modern particle physics and cosmology. In the absence of hints regarding a possible solution to these problems, many approaches have been developed to tackle them simultaneously, which led to very diverse models and paradigms. In the first part of the talk I will give a general overview of what has been done so far, highlighting the important concepts and insights that we have gained. Then, In the second part, I will present a new framework unifying the genesis of DM and BAU in a minimal and model-independent way.
