Description
We discuss two recently carried out experiments at Jefferson Lab that measured with precision the spin structure function of the nucleon g2, aiming at the determination of the twist-3 matrix element known as d2 for both the proton and the neutron. This matrix element is related to the average Lorentz color force that a quark experiences just at the instant it is struck. It is also interpreted as a linear combination of the electric and magnetic "color polarizabilities" in the nucleon. Our goal is to improve the precision of the present data to provide a a more stringent test of the prediction of Lattice QCD for this interesting observable.
