Description
Several extensions of the Standard Model predicts the existence of hypothetical particles called leptoquarks, which carry color charge, fractional electric charge and both leptonic and baryonic quantum numbers. Several experiments performed searches for leptoquarks, such as HERA or experiments based at the Tevatron or at the LHC. The CMS collaboration performed searches for pairs of leptoquarks of 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation with proton-proton collision data at sqrt(s)=7 and 8 TeV. The analyses will be presented in detail, from the selection of the region of interest to the estimation of the background level, including an accurate description of one of the variable used by in the analyses, called the missing transverse energy. Results will be presented and re-interpreted in a SuperSymmetry with R-parity violation framework By Dr Matthieu Marionneau
