Description
The 'BL Lac class' of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) has long been the 'bread and butter' of extra-galactic gamma-ray astronomy. However with the sensitivity and survey capability of the Fermi-LAT detector, other classes of AGN are being discovered as sources of gamma-rays. These new gamma-ray sources are affording us a different view of the AGN phenomenon. While this 'new view' is allowing us to better understand the inner workings of AGN, it is also giving us a few surprises. In this talk I will review some of my work on Fermi-LAT's 'non-blazar' observations, discussing their implications and what they mean for both future gamma-ray telescopes and current neutrino telescopes.
