Description
In July 2012 a new boson has been observed by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations in the context of the searches for the SM Higgs particle. Since then, the analyses that lead to the discovery improved in terms of performances and their combination is now used to assess the new particle’s properties. I will present the current results of the data confrontation with the SM predictions. Based on the experience gathered so far, the LHC experiments produced predictions for very high luminosity scenarios (from 300 fb-1 to 3 ab-1). After describing these projections, I will critically discuss the issues related to precision Higgs measurements at the LHC. The case for dedicated Higgs factories will be made and the most promising options will be reviewed.
