Description
Recent measurements at the LHC in the photon-photon and 4 leptons channels indicate the existence of an electroweak scale resonance. It is to early to proclaim the discovery of the Standard Model Higgs boson, but if the resonance is the Higgs boson it has a large branching ratio into hadrons. Novel techniques can help to disentangle the Higgs decay products from the large QCD backgrounds. In this talk, I would like to review some of these techniques and discuss Standard Model and New Physics scenarios where they can become particularly useful in discovering the properties of the Higgs boson.
