Description
In 1969, Luis Alvarez ruled out the existence of an extra room in Khephren's pyramid, using a muon detector installed in the only known room, which is close to the ground level.
Several studies have pointed out the possible existence of an extra room in Khufu's pyramid, which could be located below the level of known rooms. It would be detectable by modern muon detectors installed outside of the pyramid.
