Description
LHCb is the LHC experiment dedicated to high precision studies of CP violation and rare decays in b flavoured hadrons. The Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix describes the quark flavour mixing within the standard model. The unitarity of the CKM matrix imposes nine unitary relations, three of them are associated to weak universality and six can be represented as six triangles in the complex plane. The one associated to the Bd meson is particularly relevant experimentally. The aim of this work is to measure the angle alpha of the unitarity triangle analyzing B0 to rho pi decay in the LHCb experiment.
