Description
The B-Factories running near the Upsilon resonances, have collected about 10^9 tau decays over the past decade. Using this very large sample, many of the branching fractions of the tau lepton have been measured with unprecedented precision. From these measurements, we present tests of charged current lepton universality and obtain estimates for |V_us| from tau decays. Commenting upon the most exciting presentations in his summary talk at the International Conference of High Energy Physics, held at Paris in July 2010,Michel Spiro highlighted the four signal events observed by the MEG experiment in search for mu->e gamma decays as the first possible hint of Lepton Flavour violation, which might herald a new era of discovery in elementary particle physics. We also summarize the status of searches for lepton flavor violating decays of the tau lepton and narrow Upsilon resonances.
