Abstract: Argon is a good scintillator with unique pulse-shape-discrimination capabilities and, as a noble element, is a good material to drift electrons released after ionization. Its potential to detect dark matter was impacted by the presence of Ar-39, a cosmogenically induced radioactive isotope that beta-decays with long lifetime and an endpoint of 565 keV. The Global Argon Dark Matter Collaboration gathered the international community performing DM searches with Ar targets towards a common project, DarkSide-20k, which is building a detector based on Underground Ar, in which the radioactivity of Ar is reduced by a factor >1000. In this talk I will explain the different projects going on under the GADMC umbrella, the physics potential and the status of the construction efforts.
