Abstract
This work presents the gravitational-wave (GW) measurement of the Hubble constant (H0) using the detections from the fifth observing GW Transient Catalog (GWTC-5.0) of the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA Collaboration (LVK). Using the combined information from the luminosity distance of the sources and their redshifts - inferred either from mass spectrum constraints or from statistical host galaxy correspondence - we draw information on the cosmological parameters. We estimate $H_0=71.7^{+9.4}_{−7.5}$ $km s^{−1} Mpc^{−1}$ (68% credible symmetric interval) using the Dark Sirens statistical framework on 236 GW signals as well as the bright siren GW170817 resulting from a binary neutron-star system coalescence with an observed electro-magnetic counterpart. The precision shows a 22.0% improvement compared to the GWTC-4.0 catalog, thanks to the inclusion of more GW sources and additional constraints using new mass models covering the full range of compact objects. We challenged modified-gravity models against the GW event dataset. No significant deviation from General Relativity was observed.
