Description

The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) will be revamped as the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), and the STAR detector will be replaced by the ePIC detector. We are developing backward electromagnetic calorimeters (ECal) to meet the energy-resolution requirements listed in the EIC Yellow Report. The energy resolution of the backward ECal prototype was measured during a beam test at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), which met the EIC requirements for electron beam energies below 6 GeV. This study will present the progress of backward ECal prototype measurements.
