Description

I will review the recent progress in quantum gravity. The goal is to convey the follow three messages:

  1. Most, if not all, of the problems in quantum gravity, i.e. black holes and closed universes, can be naturally understood in the Karch-Randall braneworld.

  2. Karch-Randall braneworld has a clear string theory realization.

  3. This calls for attention from string theory community to open the portal between string theory and quantum gravity.
