Description

The Higgs and top-quark sectors provide exceptional opportunities to probe physics beyond the Standard Model. Their strong connection through the Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism makes them a uniquely sensitive laboratory for detecting deviations in fundamental couplings and exploring high-energy dynamics.
In this seminar, I will present an overview insisting on recent developments on searching for such deviations using Effective Field Theories (SMEFT and HEFT), together with dedicated analyses in ATLAS, particularly multi‑top processes and the production of Higgs‑boson pairs in association with top quarks.
I will also discuss the prospects offered by the High‑Luminosity LHC (HL‑LHC), the crucial role of upcoming detector upgrades (ITk, HGTD), and the development of global EFT combinations for the Higgs and top sectors.
