OSSR Meeting

Europe/Paris
  • Participant: JS, MF, MK, KG
  • Technical Updates to eOSSR (TV)
    • add codemetav3
    • multiple funding sources
    • fix ORCIDs, legal names, docs
  • EVERSE: coming MS11 (https://github.com/EVERSE-ResearchSoftware/DashVERSE/issues/10) - Demonstration of the outcome of the common framework to the research community, by showing software quality indicators in existing services (such as OpenEBench, WorkflowHub, Research Software Directory, ENVRIHUB, etc) based on the dashboard prototype.
    • OSSR proposed as one of the Research Communities to apply resqui (quality pipelines) to the OSSR and visualise metrics in a dedicated dashboard of dashverse, thus laying the first foundation for the work proposed in OSCARS2.
    • start with the default configuration for the demo and plan for an OSSR meeting to select a few indicators and tools we want to have.
    • MF: Invite onboarded packages and present
  • OSCARS2 (KG)
    • The focus of the OSSR aspects in OSCARS2 could/should be:

OSSR1                  Continue the onboarding and technical development of OSSR and integration with EOSC and other RDM services

OSSR2                  Incentivise the uptake of the OSSR by researchers and developers from ESCAPE and its partners.

OSSR3                  Establish the relevant indicators of software quality for ESCAPE
(this will have important repercussions on how software is developed, how we promote it and potentially how it’s getting funded)

OSSR4                  Onboard the OSSR in the EVERSE framework to automatise software quality evaluation .

OSSR5                  Establish connections with the HSF which is running an Affiliated Program very similar to the OSSR and extend those with ZENODO.

OSSR6                  Train stakeholders in software quality and publication, especially in relation to EVERSE and OSSR.

    • WP1
Scientific impact and engagement (ACTIVITIES : 1 and 2.5)

Accelerate FAIR adoption and the contribution to and use of EOSC resources by multiple research communities through open science projects through a cascading grant mechanism. (1)

Engaging under-represented thematic research and RI communities to increase their integration in EOSC. (2.5)

    • WP2

Strengthening, surveying and conceiving training programmes (ACTIVITIES : 2.2)

Training programmes tailored to the specific needs of different thematic research communities and the evolving needs of EOSC user communities.

    • WP3

Enhancing the EOSC Federation’s impacts (ACTIVITIES : 2.3 and 2.4)

Developing frameworks for high-impact services and data repositories onboarded to the EOSC Federation.

Establishing mechanisms for the integration and long-term sustainable provision of all relevant outcomes into the EOSC Federation.

      WP4

      Community-based competence centres (ACTIVITIES : 2.1)

Coordinating, aligning and networking existing community-based competence centres on FAIR and open science practices developed within the EOSC ecosystem.

    • TO DO :
      • Define cluster representatives in each WP.
      • Define ESCAPE WG consolidation priorities and map to OSCARS2 WP and tasks.
      • Budgeting (FTEs personnel and other costs - small “consolidation” budget), list of beneficiaries.
      • Proposal editing.
