Description
The generation of angular momentum in fission fragments remains a fundamental question in the microscopic description of fission. In this presentation, I will show that the uncertainty principle associated with the fragment orientation provides the dominant contribution to the fragment spin. I will then discuss the microscopic origin of spin-parity distributions, including the role of pair-breaking processes associated with the excitation energy of the fragments.
