Exploring Water and Energy Challenges in Kenya: A Call for Collaborative Research Between Kenya and France

Africa/Nairobi
Tsavo Inn, Mtito Andei, Kenya
Description

The workshop on "Exploring Water and Energy Challenges in Kenya: A Call for Collaborative Research Between Kenya and France" will be held in Mtito Andei on 6-8 October 2025. It builds on the success of the WATCH project, a French and Kenyan scientific collaboration on the "Assessment Water resources using muon Tomography in the Chyulu Hills", combining continuous muographic measurements with geophysical, hydro-meteorological and socio-environmental surveys.

The objectives of the workshop include: discussing common scientific interests, developing a work plan for a period of approximately five years, leveraging ties between France and Kenya to form a consortium open to other countries, and paving the way for a future application to a European or international call for proposals.
