Description
ALLEGRO is a proposed detector concept being developed to meet the challenging requirements of the physics at the Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee). A key component of ALLEGRO is its electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL), which is based on noble liquid technology currently being developed within the Detector R&D Collaboration for Calorimeters (DRDCalo). The calorimeter design is tailored to FCC-ee specifications, employing a multilayer readout with straight electrodes to achieve fine segmentation. Such granularity is essential for employing advanced event reconstruction approaches, such as particle flow and machine learning-based techniques.
The IN2P3 laboratories are strongly engaged in this R&D, with contributions to reconstruction tools in the key4hep software framework, projections for the calorimeter performance, studies of the detector mechanics, and the design and measurements of the readout electrodes.
Progress on the key R&D aspects will be shown, along with expected detector performance and plans for prototypes to validate the concept.
