14:30 → 15:00 Search for CP violation with effective field theories in WZ diboson production in ATLAS (20' talk + 10' Q/A)

The Standard Model does not provide enough sources of Charge-Parity violation to describe the matter-antimatter asymmetry as it is observed in today's Universe. New physics that could enable us to solve this problem would probably be involved at energy scales beyond the reach of LHC proton-proton collisions. Effective field theories offer a description of such phenomena in a way that enable us to put constraints on the new physics parameters with data available for example from the ATLAS experiment. This talks aims to provide an overview of my work to constrain these parameters in the CP violating sector with a machine learning approach.

15:00 → 15:30 Multivariate analysis of the EW gauge bosons' polarisation at the LHC (20' talk + 10' Q/A)

Proton-proton collisions at LHC offer a unique handle on the study of the polarization of the Standard Model electroweak (EW) bosons, linked to the whole structure of the EW sector and the presence of the Higgs boson. Multivariate analyses will be carried out to study their effect on the LHC Run-3 data. Also, the future ATLAS detector after its Phase-II upgrade should benefit from a larger acceptance coverage potentially enhancing the precision of such measurements. The doctoral student will contribute to the Run-III data analysis as well as preparing future iterations of the analysis will such an extended ATLAS detector, investigating the possibility to use machine learning techniques to improve the measurements.
