I would begin by making a few remarks  about the need for Equity and Inclusion  in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), with a focus on Gender. After that I would like to survey the situation in India in the context of Gender Equity  in  STEM and the efforts being made to move towards a more gender equitable situation.
