The Institut de Physique des 2 Infinis de Lyon is pleased to welcome the French Virgo community engaged in detector characterization, to discuss ongoing activities, the O4b science run, and chart the course for future endeavors, in a two-day meeting on April 9-10, 2024.
On the first day, we will have an overview of the current activities undertaken by the Detchar group, focusing on the various ongoing projects, the resources, and expertise available across the different Virgo groups. Our specific emphasis will be on activities supporting the upcoming observational campaign, O4b. On the second day, we will discuss plans for the future of these endeavors, considering their role in the forthcoming upgrade phase of the Advanced Virgo detector and their impact on preparations for the O5 observational campaign.
All members of the collaboration actively involved in Data Analysis or Commissioning activities, of which Detchar acts as a link, are warmly invited to join us for this meeting. This gathering presents a significant opportunity to fortify the connections between these diverse facets of gravitational wave research. We also extend a strong invitation to all other members, particularly young researchers who have yet to engage with Detchar, to familiarize themselves with its activities. This presents an opportune moment to cultivate synergies and collectively devise strategies aimed at revitalizing the Detchar group.
The details of the agenda are yet to be finalized.
The meeting will take place in the Salle croix rousse (3rd floor) of the Institut de Physique des 2 Infinis de Lyon, in bâtiment Dirac of the LyonTech la Doua Campus, 4 rue Enrico Fermi, 69622 Villeurbanne.
Participation in the event is free. For those intending to attend in person, we kindly request registration to facilitate the organization of the meeting venue and coffee breaks.
The link for remote participation via Zoom will be distributed before the start of the event.
