Bonjour à tous,

 

Nous avons le plaisir aujourd’hui de recevoir Céline Teplitsky qui nous présentera ses travaux lors du BEEPs, de 13h à 14h à la bibliothèque

 

Céline est chargée de recherche au Centre d’Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive à Montpellier. Ses travaux portent notamment sur la plasticité phénotypique et en particulier dans le cadre des changements globaux, questions qui devraient en intéresser plus d’un !

 

 

Céline sera présente au DEPE physiquement, donc n’hésitez pas à venir la rencontrer après le BEEPs et discuter avec elle de ses/vos travaux ! (Clin d’oeil aux étudiants souvent timides).

Birds response to climate change: the role of plasticity and microevolution

 Changes in phenology are playing a major role in responses to climate change. In order to understand and predict these responses, we need to evaluate their origin and evolutionary potential. This is all the more important as plasticity and microevolution have different pace and limits. Plasticity of laying date in Blue tits is a textbook example of phenological plasticity. Using long term monitoring in wild populations of blue tits we assessed the extent to which plasticity can explain the recent advances in phenology and how well we can predict these responses
