Out-of-equilibrium dynamics in gaussian systems and form factor expansions

Solvable models are invaluable to understand the complex dynamics of many-body quantum systems. I will present two exact results on free-fermion-like systems out of equilibrium, obtained through form factor expansions. I will first show how to compute the time-dependent magnetization in the infinite-size Ising model when an arbitrary magnetic field is monitored, which was unknown before. In a second part I will explain how to explicitly implement Kadanoff's blocking picture to describe in a coarse-grained way a gas of hardcore bosons in inhomogeneous potentials. I will use this coarse-graining to show the emergence of hydrodynamics in appropriate limits.
