Description
The abundance of Dark Matter in the Universe is one of the most exciting open questions of modern physics, clear indication of the existence of new physics beyond the standard model. After decades of searches and an immense experimental effort, DM has not been observed yet, suggesting that new theoretical and experimental strategies are needed to solve this puzzle. In the last decades, theorists have proposed dark sector scenarios with QCD-like properties that might have interesting collider signatures, poorly or not at all explored.
The investigation of these uncharted territories requires the development of new tools and dedicated analysis strategies. In this seminar, we will present recent results and developments of searches for dark showers with the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.
