    • 16:00 17:00
      Discussion 1h
      • Klaas, Nico, Gareth, Dave, James, Pierre, Aard, Stefano, Matthias, Sara, Other James, Stelios.
      • Gareth: Thanks Nico for merging the CONCORDIA.
      • Batch processing use cases.
        • Worthwhile bringing SKA use cases to this meeting, but we'll concentrate on fairly immediate goals for now.
        • Matthias: It is important to establish that there is interest for batch processing across multiple ESFRIs; this could e.g. be the basis of future collaborations.
      • Dave: Metadata.
        • Proposing an additional metadata file which describes the executable metadata components of each project. Would live in the repository with the rest of the software.
        • Separate requirements for individual executables (notebooks, etc) from requirements for the parent project.
        • Important to manage degeneracy in notebooks stored as-is vs notebooks stored in containers.
        • Dave is keeping notes and will work on turning these examples into a fully-fledged schema.
        • Dave planning to make an example Python library.
        • Lots of discussion about managing multiple different software products in one repository.
        • Conclusions: lots of good ideas here, but we need some sort of enumeration of the types of software we will execute which is driven by use cases — or, at least, clearly written down so that we can discuss them without being confused/surprised about each others' expectations.
      • Next week: Ask if Stelios will get back to his whiteboard discussion of UI.
      • In two weeks: Dave will lead further discussion of use cases for execution.
