Seminar by Roberto Bonciani (LPSC Grenoble) ____________________________________________________ We review the status of the theoretical predictions for the top-anti top production in hadronic collisions, paying particular attention to the pair production at the LHC. We stress the need for a complete theoretical analysis that includes higher-order quantum corrections and, finally, we discuss recent theoretical calculations at the level of NNLO.
