        Reporting

Thanks to all for your contributions to the report on WP5 activities during RP2. The report as submitted to the ESCAPE Executive Board can be downloaded from:

(available until early January). The reports from all of the various work packages will be edited and included in the overall ESCAPE report provided to project reviewers early next year, so this text will undergo some further changes. If you have updates or amendments over the next ~month, please forward them to me.

        Technical Progress

Monday afternoon discussions have continued to focus on the execution model for software in the ESAP environment. Key discussion documents:

        • https://git.astron.nl/groups/astron-sdc/escape-wp5/-/wikis/Executing-Software-part2
        • https://git.astron.nl/groups/astron-sdc/escape-wp5/-/wikis/Executing-software-in-ESAP:-The-User-Perspective

Today's goal: agreeing on basic metadata required from OSSR. See https://git.astron.nl/groups/astron-sdc/escape-wp5/-/wikis/ESAP/ESAP-Metadata for discussion.

Sabine Elles at LAPP continues to dig into the Rubin Science Platform (RSP) code architecture in order to understand how to add customized services.
The idea is to demonstrate that the RSP can be adapted / extended to serve the needs of other science projects.

        Continued work on DIRAC integration:
        https://git.astron.nl/astron-sdc/escape-wp5/esap-general/-/issues/69

Authentication is still the main hurdle.
DIRAC required the x509 certificate and key. IAM contains only the certificate (which I can now access from a python script).

        In contact with DIRAC devs.

We are working on providing eduGAIN login for our JupyterHub. A prerequisite for eduGAIN is to connect our service to surfconnext, the identity provider offered by the Dutch NREN Surfnet. The technical work to enable surfconnext is done and we are now awaiting official approval by Surfnet.

When our service has been approved by surfnet we can start work to enable eduGAIN.
