      Announcements, news and general updates

Provide your information by adding minutes to the sub-contribution. You will need to have an indico account to do this.
Note: Please also mention in your updates if you are going to or were at an event to talk about ESAP.

      • a) NWO-I / ASTRON
        • Thank you to everybody who took part in the Extended Discussion Day and/or the General Assembly last month. Discussions there were quite productive. I've not received any feedback from our External Advisory Board yet, but will pass it on when I do.
        • The next project review by the EC will likely place on 2 March 2022. Details of exactly what we'll have to provide for this will be forthcoming, but we should anticipate at least refreshed financial information for each partner, and a per-partner/per-RI breakdown of the work we have been doing.
        • Submitted a poster on ESAP to ADASS XXXI.
          • Thanks to everybody who contributed!
          • There is still time to contribute to the proceedings if you'd like: join the fun on ASTRON GitLab.
          • The meeting itself will take place from 24 to 28 October.
        • Nice technical progress on ESAP; check out sdc-dev.astron.nl/esap-gui for examples. A few highlights include:
          • Dramatically improved OSSR search interface (thanks Stelios!)
          • IVOA search capability (re-)enabled (thanks Nico!)
          • Zenodo search by community (thanks Gareth!)
          • Functionality to add items to the shopping basket from IDA systems is forthcoming (MR; thanks Hugh!)
        • ESAP as sdc-dev now provides access to BinderHub services from SKAO (thanks James!) and JIVE (thanks Aard!).
      • b) CERN
      • c) CNRS-LAPP

        - Prepare Rubin Science Platform (RSP) demo for WP5 meeting

        - Explore Dask usage from RSP

        - Try to understand some stability issues

      • d) CSIC
      • e) CTAO

eOSSR API added to Zenodo archive ESAP page, able to search by community and keyword.

Begun work on DIRAC integration. Plan of things I want to look at to test feasibility:

        • DIRAC python3, DIRAC is new to python3 while ESAP requires it
          • Started/done some minor issues but working so far
        • DIRAC and ESAP existing in the same framework/enviroment
          • initially this seems ok. I have a container that runs both programs (some module version changes needed in the ESAP requirements.txt)
        • IAM: Can the users x509 stored in IAM be used to initiate a DIRAC session through the ESAP?
          • no idea yet, I added an issue to astron gitlab, branch of ESAP created for this purpose
        • ….. more stuff I have not yet considered ….
        • How can we combine this with the DIRAC-RUCIO work being doing for CTA Use Case 2 (Data Processing) by Frederic et al. ?
          • This will depend on what they find out
      • f) NWO-I / CWI
