Parton Distribution Functions and Neural Networks: the NNPDF project

A determination of Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) with a reliable estimation of associated uncertainties is crucial to fully exploit the physics potential of the LHC experiments. I will discuss in detail the NNPDF approach to PDF determination, based on the use of Monte Carlo techniques and Neural Networks, discuss how it can efficiently tackle problems which affect standard PDF determinations and present results based on the very same techniques.
