Investigating the idea of having the FAIR Data Lake as an RSE within the ESCAPE Data lake. The idea is not yet well enough developed to present. Agreed to continue working
Major upgrade to xrootd 5, “at some point in near future”.
The discussion on the various volumes of storage requirements has started.
Risk associated w.r.t DAC21.
Will have answers to those questions as soon as
Are we going to have tape
CTA needs tape.
There is possibility of having tape connected at DESY(to be checked)
Tape is also there for LOFAR at SurfSARA.
There is a possibility of analysing data on site.(to be checked with team)
Data lifecycle use-case: is very much the primary SKA use-case.
Better understand the use-case -- much more metadata-rich than WLCG use-cases.
Use-cases are currently more descriptive than describing the capacity of storage.
Minimum and desirable storage capacity needs to drive DAC21.(To be checked)
Policies in Rucio → ActivityThree.
Tests so far have been done manually: functional testing, rather than performance testing.
Plan is for Rob to work on improving filtering options. Interest from CTAO to collaborate on this.
Already Installed a Rucio instance based on k8s.
Investigating how much storage capacity will be needed for DAC21.
Networking problem preventing data transfers from the observatory.
Work started on building the use-cases document. Will
WiP on QoS monitoring and likely to be presented in the upcoming DepOps meeting.
