Description
As a motivation for searching for a new Higgs-like particle, some theories containing multiple Higgs Doublets will be quickly introduced.
Then going into the experimental part, the CMS detector at CERN will be briefly presented. From there, explanation will be given on how, within this detector, particles can be reconstructed from proton-proton collisions at the LHC with a strong focus on photons. Finally an overview of the complex strategy and sophisticated techniques used to find a new low-mass Higgs boson from the diphoton background will be presented as well as some expected sensitivity and interpretations for such a particle.
