Description

Abstract:
This talk summarises the state-of-the-art in searches for Supersymmetry (SUSY) performed with pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The aim of the talk is to describe recent searches for electroweak SUSY particle production, with particular focus on R-parity conserving scenarios. This description will be framed in terms of the search strategies used and it will be argued that there is room for complementary strategies to be
employed in a variety of BSM searches. Commentary on the results will be given along with a discussion of their impact on models of new physics, including hints of how the
results are beginning to have a broader impact in the particle physics community by their inclusion in global fits by the GAMBIT collaboration.
