Anna Kaczmarska (IFJ, Cracovie): The quest for charged Higgs boson at ATLAS

The most notable achievement of LHC Run-1 is the discovery of the Higgs Boson in 2012 by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. The discovery of the Higgs boson constitutes one of the major breakthroughs of particle physics of the last decades. On the other hand, it opened an all-new domain of research.
The Higgs particle may belong to a larger family of fundamental scalars. Such a scenario is implemented by most of beyond Standard Model theories. Charged Higgs bosons, are predicted by several non-minimal Higgs scenarios, such as Two-Higgs-Doublet Models or models containing Higgs triplets. The observation of a charged Higgs boson would be a direct window into New Physics. In this talk current searches for charged Higgs boson in the ATLAS experiment, using LHC Run-2 data, are presented.
