Début du webinaire : 10h précises, fin 11h au plus tard

Clusters of galaxies represent the last step of the formation of large scale structures in the Universe. They are both fundamental for cosmology, and unique astrophysical laboratories. Clusters grow by accretion of surrounding structures and from the mergers of subclusters, in the most energetic events since the Big Bang. They can be detected and studied using their member galaxies, but also by measuring the imprint of their intracluster gas in the Cosmic Microwave Background (the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich - SZ - effect).

After introducing the key role of clusters in our understanding of the assembly of matter in the Universe, I will present recent SZ observations dedicated to probe the gas pressure and velocity, in order to understand cluster formation. Finally, I will discuss current efforts made to push the cosmological use of clusters at higher redshifts, in the context of next generation optical/NIR surveys, focusing on the Euclid mission.
