Two Higgs doublets: A simple extension of the standard model

The two-doublet Higgs model is shortly introduced, as a simple extension of the Standard Model. Phenomenological implications of the model, and suggestions for tests in order to distinguish among the possible alternatives, are illustrated. Moreover a sketch is given about the Peccei-Quinn solution to the strong CP problem.
