Description
In this talk I discuss the production of two vector bosons in association with two jets
at the LHC. At leading order, this process is classified into electroweak and QCD induced
mechanisms based on the difference in the overall coupling constant. The electroweak induced
channel is sensitive to VV -> VV scattering and the electroweak quartic gauge couplings, while the
QCD induced channel is an irreducible background to it. After highlighting the key differences between
those two mechanisms, I will focus on the QCD-induced channel and present our recent
calculations at NLO QCD accuracy, which have been implemented in VBFNLO program. For the case of unstable
gauge bosons, leptonic decays with full off-shell effects and spin correlations are taken into account.
For final state with a real photon, we use Frixione smooth cone isolation cut. The issue of choosing
a reasonable renormalization/factorization scale is also discussed.
