Description
Power spectra and statistics of primordial scalar (density) perturbations and tensor perturbations (primordial gravitational waves) are the main observational predictions of the inflationary scenario of the early Universe which give a possibility to confirm or falsify any concrete realization of it. By now, such subtle and generic consequence of inflation as the scalar spectrum tilt (deviation from the Harrison-Zeldovich flat spectrum) has been reliably confirmed by observational data, and the first claim of the indirect detection of primordial gravitational waves has been appeared recently. I review theoretical predictions for these power spectra in the simplest inflationary models in the Einstein and modified theories of gravity and compare them with the latest observations.
