Thanks to specialized techniques and tools, flavor physics has evolved into a precision domain. Using a few examples of measurements and techniques employed at the CDF and ATLAS experiments, I will illustrate how stringent tests of the Standard Model are made possible, and how these can constrain the new physics landscape we may face with the LHC
