Research into radionuclide production for nuclear medicine is crucial for advancing diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. This study focuses on the fabrication and characterization of gadolinium (Gd) targets for the production of terbium (Tb) radionuclides, with an emphasis on Tb-155 for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging. Depending on the intended application, target characteristics may vary: thin targets are required for cross-section measurements, whereas thicker targets are needed for large-scale production batches. In this work, we aim to develop both thin and thick targets using different manufacturing techniques. The molecular plating technique is used to produce thin targets, and the pelletizing technique is employed for thick targets.
