Description
In the last decade, the measurements of cosmological parameters has improved dramatically, and now we are entering the era of precision cosmology. I will present 2 major cosmological parameter measurements that I have been involved in: 1. Baryon asymmetry and the Big Bang Nucleosynthesis using quasar absorption lines. 2. The Supernova Cosmology Project. Based on the experience with 8-10m Telescopes and Hubble Space Telescope observations, I will discuss which key issues we need to attack for the further improvement of dark energy in the era of NASA/DOE's Joint Dark Energy Mission (JDEM). As an example, I will demonstrate the application of principal component analysis (PCA) to the Type Ia supernova spectra which will play a key role in the design and optimization of future surveys.
