Description

This communication aims at presenting an ongoing PhD research to people who are not familiar with social sciences (journalists, and scientists and students from other disciplines).

In a first time, I underline what are the particularities of sociology as a discipline. How does one build a sociological object, and research questions relative to this object? What are the available methods one can employ to answer such sociological questions ?

In a second time, I present my PhD research on French Investigative Journalism (IJ) and its international collaborations. I examine the specific definition of IJ and the methods that I have chosen in order to identify the conditions of possibility of journalistic knowledge.
Finally, I present some of the first results of this research, from the already collected data.
