Description

The REcommendation System for SPECTroscopic follow-up (RESSPECT) was first established via a collaboration between COIN and LSST-DESC.. It aims to adapt active learning strategies for the construction of optimized training samples for supernova photometric classification in the context of the Vera Rubin Observatory Large Survey of Space and Time (LSST).

The team is formed by researchers from both collaborations who are working together in the development of a recommendation system which will enable informed decisions regarding the allocation of spectroscopic follow-up resources and consequent optimized scientific results from purely photometric samples.

This event is the second face to face meeting of the REESPECT team.

Information on our fist encounter, which took place in Clermont Ferrand - France, in July 2019, can be found here.

This meeting will be dedicated to integrating RESSPECT to the DESC time-domain pipeline and TOM systems.

Contact people for this meeting: Emille Ishida and Alex Kim.

This meeting is supported by DESC Operations Committee.
