Description

The MICROSCOPE space mission aims to testing the Weak Equivalence Principle with unprecedented accuracy. Launch in 2016, it has cumulated precious data for more than two years. After the first result publication in 2017, the science team has patiently looked step by step to all the data during 3 years. The result of this analysis is unambiguous : Einstein is still the winner as there is no evidence of a violation of the WEP at 10^-15 level. This awesome accuracy was made possible thanks to a rigorous analysis of potential measurement errors. In the presentation, we will show how this result was achieved and how the pitfalls were solved. The lessons learned from MICROSCOPE let imagine a new mission with even better accuracy. The game will not be over until the grail of physicist remains unsolved: Can we unify quantum field theory and general relativity beyond the standard model.
