Introduction to Frictionless Data

Frictionless Data is a relatively new project dedicated to creating a universal data toolkit, including packaging. It is supported by Open Knowledge Foundation and recognised by Research Data Alliance. There is an ongoing real-world pilot program - it is used by a network ofoceanographic-research projects in the US (BCO-DMO), which due to its diversity produces fairly heterogeneous and occasionally messy data. We feel this is relevant to WP5 because it might be worth for our platform to support at least parts of the Frictionless Data tool set, starting with Data Package I/O.
