Description
In my talk I will describe a new near-infrared survey of the distant
Universe which covers the two-square-degree COSMOS field. Combined
with a vast amount of ancillary high-quality multi-wavelength data
(over 30 photometric bands) this dataset provides a unique probe of
the Universe at z~2, and is currently largest and deepest
near-infrared survey. I will present results from a forthcoming paper
concerning the abudances and clustering properties of a large sample
of passive galaxies at z~2 and I will describe how these results can
be interpreted in the context of the halo model of galaxy formation.
