Since the start of the LHC, an unprecedented amount of data has been published not only on perturbative QCD and Standard Model analysis but also on minimum bias physics both for light and heavy systems. One of the best description of multiple parton interaction and hadron production is given by the EPOS model. This model predicts that collective hadronization happens not only in PbPb but in lighter system like p-Pb or even high multiplicity p-p interactions too. In fact, this is a key point to get an accurate description of LHC data.
On the one hand, since air shower development induced by high energy cosmic rays is directly related to minimum bias hadronic interactions, it is interesting to test the impact of LHC data on the analysis of air showers using an event generator like EPOS. On the other hand taking into account results from experiment like the Pierre Auger Observatory, one can test high energy hadronic interactions at energies which will never be reached by collider experiment.
In the framework of the EPOS model, we will show what has been learned at LHC and what constraints can be fixed by air shower experiment on particle production from SPS to LHC energies and beyond.
