Description
The double-beta decay partners 76Ge and 76Se have extensively been studied in a series of photon scattering experiments up to the particle threshold, at the S-DALINAC facility of TU Darmstadt and the HIGS facility at Duke University. The observation of dipole-excited states such as the scissors mode at low energies allows to constrain Majorana parameters in the Interacting Boson Model. Much focus of the analysis has been on the investigation of the pygmy dipole resonance in these isotopes at the virge of deformation, complemented by statistical model calculations. Other recent work involves the measurement of the lowest 2+ and 4+ excitation energies in the A~70 neutron-rich Cr and Fe isotopes within the SEASTAR project at RIKEN-RIBF. First results of the respective analysis will be discussed.
