Description

An entire body of data on B-meson decays display persistent deviations from Standard-Model (SM) predictions. These data constitute the single, coherent array of deviations from the SM, and in a set of processes historically sensitive to new effects. Yet a full-fledged theory able to explain at the same time these anomalies and the absence of deviations in many related datasets poses major challenges. I will provide a self-contained account of where we stand and share thoughts on what balance of theory and experiment should we bet on -- knowing that data relevant to a verdict are going to flow in profusion, soon.
