Description

The talk explores the uniqueness of the interplay between the top quark and the Higgs boson - the pillars of stability and prosperity in our metastable universe. These two particles and their Yukawa interaction are among the fundamental building blocks of the Standard Model (SM) with its implications going well beyond the scope of our lifetime and sometimes even imagination. The vacuum stability in the SM is very sensitive to the masses of these particles and the strength of the top-Higgs coupling. The observation of the flavour-changing neutral currents in the top-Higgs sector would be an unambiguous sign of the new physics phenomena. The identification of b-quark jets is of primary importance for the analyses with the top quark and the Higgs boson. The latest results of the experimental studies from ATLAS and CMS of the properties of the top-Higgs interaction, as well as the identification methods of b jets, are reviewed.
