In this talk I will review the status of cosmic strings of different types, and discuss a variety of observational signatures of strings. These include radio broadcasts from superconducting strings, as well as gravitational wave bursts and B-modes in the CMB from more standard strings. Constraints on defects from these combined signatures will be discussed.
